The Praxmar toboggan run is divided into two parts. The first part starts in Lüsens at the fish ponds. From here it's a pleasant incline to the Alpengasthof Praxmar. This track has 600 m and 100 m altitude. The second part starts a little behind the inn and leads to the unmanaged Koglalm at 2,135 m. The entire route offers a great view of the surrounding impressive peaks in the Lüsener Valley. There are a few flat spots on the track, but they can be crossed with the necessary momentum. The long track has approx. 4,500 m and 500 m altitude.

The prepared toboggan hill

Route

Starting from the small parking lot, an asphalt road leads directly to the start of the toboggan run in a few meters. From the large Praxmar car park, follow the red sign “Koglalm toboggan hiking trail” below the inn out of the valley. It goes downhill briefly and then you turn left and you are at the start of the toboggan run. Alternatively, you could also walk steeply up the slope in front of the inn and climb a little less than halfway to the toboggan run (orange paths on the map). The blue path leads through a sparse forest in wide curves uphill on a very pleasant slope. You keep passing small huts and also a prepared toboggan hill. Further up it gets a little steeper. Walk past the new avalanche warning board and after two bends turn right out to the Koglalm.

Surrounded by snow-capped mountains, white forests and frozen mountain streams is the Alpengasthof Praxmar - a cozy inn that also offers hotel rooms and comfortable holiday apartments.

Warm cuisine from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m

Saturday & Sunday like public holidays: 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m

Parking

Option 1: Parking in Lüsens. At the fork in the road, turn left towards Lüsens and park at the Moos car park. The small toboggan run starts right next to the road up to the Alpengasthof.

Option 2: Park at the small Kniepiss parking lot. At the fork in the road, turn right and then there is a small parking lot on the left, just below the start of the toboggan run.

Option 3: Park at the Alpengasthof Praxmar. At the fork in the road, turn right towards Praxmar and drive to the end of the road behind the Alpengasthof. There is still a large parking lot there.

Cost: A day ticket costs €5.
