Toboggan Run Juifenalm

Much-visited natural toboggan run with a rustic alpine pasture.

The toboggan run is one of the longest and snowiest runs in the Sellraintal and is very popular despite the long climb. The small Juifenalm, nestled into the hillside, is an extremely popular stop for locals and holidaymakers. The alpine pasture is also farmed with livestock in winter and there is also a pig pen in front of the alpine pasture - a paradise for children. Magnificent, high alpine panoramic views of the famous Zischgeles, Lampsenspitze, Grießkogel and Freihut - are probably familiar to all ski tourers.

Due to the high location of the Juifenalm at 2,022 m, it is very snow-sure. It used to be an insider tip, but today it is very well attended even when there is generally poor snow conditions. The toboggan run has a pleasant slope and is easy for everyone to toboggan on.

Route

The leisurely and beautiful climb leads about 300 meters past the Juifenau district from the parking lot over a forest road, which is also the toboggan run. It continues with several curves until just above the tree line. Here you will find a nice spot for a short break at the hunting lodge. Then the forest becomes a little thinner and we continue on an almost constant gradient over beautiful alpine pastures with now great views to the beautifully located Juifenalm.

Food

The idyllic Juifenalm awaits hard-working tobogganers with homemade delicacies from traditional cuisine. Please note: as space in the hut is limited, there may be waiting times until a seat becomes available. Pay particular attention to this when visiting with children.

Parking

In Gries in the Sellraintal, coming from Kematen, turn left into Lüsenstal. The paid parking lot is located approx. 300 m after the Juifenau district, right next to the road.
