Mill Village Gschnitz
Inhale and breathe deeply at the Sandes waterfall
Accompanied by this magical noise that fills the world around your mill village and guided by a child's joy of discovery, you come closer and closer to the beauty of this natural setting on the impressive waterfall path.
A place to calm down
The mill village in Gschnitz enables a journey through time, where the way people work as they did 100 years ago is shown. In the shadow of the sand waterfall you hike on “old paths” and have the opportunity to explore all the buildings and their functions from the outside and inside. Back then, people accompanied their product from the first to the last step. Children especially marvel at the water-powered grain mill, the blacksmith shop and the craft workshop.
The Sandeswaterfall
Spraying fine spray wets the skin, thousands of tiny shiny pearls atomize in the colors of the rainbow, the air smells wonderfully fresh, as if washed. And that's what she is. The sand waterfall in the Mühlendorf in Gschnitz turns the air surrounding it into an ion bath. Specific microclimate with highly concentrated negatively charged air ions and high mountain air - this mixture is said to influence the body's immune function. They produce feel-good hormones in people, strengthen the immune system, promote healthy sleep, increase the ability to concentrate and neutralize positive ions. All of these effects are attributed to the negative ions, which are also called “vitamins of the air”. The highest density of negative ions is found in the air directly surrounding waterfalls.
