Ebbs Rarity Zoo
At the foot of the tame emperor in Tyrol
The individual, privately run zoo shows over 500 animals in around 70 different species from all over the world.
The park, in its natural surroundings at the foot of the Zahmer Kaiser, has been a popular excursion destination for nature and animal lovers since 1991.
The animals are housed in a lovingly designed facility - surrounded by flowers that are rarely found in a zoo. The zoo's operators primarily strive to breed and preserve rare bird species that are threatened with extinction. The undisputed crowd favorites at the zoo are the Barbary macaques. The zoo was awarded “Very Good for animal-friendly husbandry and zoological care” by a private team of experts.
A special highlight are the free-roaming ring-tailed lemurs that you come across throughout the zoo.
Good to know
So that everything you need can be taken with you, there are handcarts you can rent for €2. (plus €3 deposit)
The entire area is accessible for both strollers and wheelchairs. The sanitary facilities are also equipped for disabled people and children.
Dogs are allowed in the Ebbs Rarity Zoo, but must be kept on a short leash through the zoo! If necessary, wear a muzzle as some zoo animals roam freely around the grounds.
Children's birthdays
Here you can celebrate a very special birthday and, for example, feed the giant tortoises or farm animals together with your friends. There is face painting and children's tours and also a zoo quiz.
„There are times when you need the silence of animals to recover from people.“

Food
At the kiosk, right at the entrance and exit, you can get ice cream, drinks, coffee and sausages. Even in unstable weather, you can take a dry break on the spacious covered terrace. At the “other end” of the zoo, near the Barbary macaques, there is a small playground and rest area. There is a snack and drinks machine there for in-between meals.
Parking
The zoo has a large parking lot on Haflingerweg. From there you take the wide asphalt path across the field slightly uphill towards the forest. After about 7 minutes on foot you will reach the entrance to the zoo.
On Sundays and public holidays when the weather is nice, parking spaces are sometimes scarce. If you cannot find parking in the available parking spaces, please do not park on the street or in adjacent meadows! It's best to park in the town of Ebbs and walk to the zoo.
Opening Hours
Open from Easter to early November from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m
From experience, the best time to visit the zoo is from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and in the afternoon from 3:30 p.m. The big rush has not yet arrived or is already over.
