Toboggan Run „Mölstal“

A beautiful railway, embedded in almost untouched nature.

The toboggan run in the Wattener Lizum, called Mölstal, is very scenic, but rather demanding due to its length. However, the ascent time can be varied because there is no place to stop for refreshments on the Mölsberg.

Route

From the barrier at the military training area, go along the road on the right over a bridge and on the left past the Walchen camp. After the first climb you see the first sign and follow the toboggan run to the right on the forest road into the Mölstal. After two long straights and four bends you are already in the Niederlegerof the Mölstal-Almen. If you still haven't had enough, you can continue on to the Hochleger, depending on the snow and avalanche danger (approx. 20 minutes). In some places it is too flat for tobogganing, but the scenery is definitely worth it!

Food

Unfortunately there is no place to stop for refreshments directly at the toboggan run. However, you can grab a refreshment at the Gasthof Mühle or Gasthof Säge on the way home on Wattenberg.

Parking

There is a large parking lot in front of the military training area. This is also the starting point for numerous ski tours and is therefore usually well filled. A parking fee is required.

Opening Hours

Tobogganing is strictly prohibited after dark. This is already indicated by a sign on the barrier. If the ban is not observed, a report will be issued by the military training area.

Miscellaneous

Live firing is regularly carried out in the TÜPl Lizum/Walchen military area. During these periods, the traffic routes and tourist paths leading to the training area are considered restricted military areas. The TÜPl command provides information about the exceptional use of traffic routes and tourist routes during shooting times. The instructions of the posted barriers must be strictly followed.
