The natural toboggan run at Hoher Sattel can almost be described as an insider tip for experienced tobogganists. If you are looking for peace and an impressive winter landscape, you have come to the right place. The descent is very fast thanks to a gradient of 15% and you can usually toboggan here in the best conditions until April. The Leutasch Tourism Association ensures good preparation. The climb is a bit strenuous, but at the end there is a beautiful plateau with a view of the surrounding mountains.
Route
At the parking lot, follow the signs for the toboggan run and after a few meters at the fork in the road, turn left into Satteltal - there is a large information gate hanging by a tree. The route continues with a moderate incline and a few curves. In the second part the path is a little steeper and you always go straight through the valley. Shortly before the end, a long s-curve leads to the highest point of the toboggan run.
Food
Unfortunately there is no place to stop for refreshments directly at the toboggan run. At the end of the toboggan run you can have a wonderful snack on two benches with the food you have brought with you. If you would like to stop off after your descent, you will find a choice in nearby Waidach.
Parking
On the connecting road between Leutasch-Ahrn and Leutasch-Emmat; There is a small parking lot right after the bridge. Parking fee €5.00 per day. .
Miscellaneous
The toboggan run is not prepared and checked every day. Use at your own risk. The best way to judge the demands and conditions of the toboggan run is uphill. If you are unsure, definitely turn back. The ascent and descent take place on the same route - so pay attention to oncoming traffic in both directions. Wearing good footwear and a helmet is required.
