Rosshütte mountain railways
Mining adventure playground with breathtaking views
On the sunny slopes of the Rosshütte, families, hikers, bikers and, most recently, via ferrata lovers will find a little paradise. A variety of hiking trails and paths as well as bike routes lead to huts and alpine pastures with wonderful views.
If you prefer a more comfortable experience, you can choose to take the cable car and travel up to 2064 m in a relaxed manner. From there you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the Tyrolean mountains. On one side are the five towns of the region, nestled between the Wetterstein Mountains, Karwendel and Hoher Munde. On clear days you can see all the way to the Zugspitze and far across the Inn Valley. On the other side of the Seefelder Joch lies the mighty Karwendel Nature Park. Rugged mountains, clear streams and green meadows alternate here to create a unique spectacle. It is not uncommon for hikers to take the last cable car and enjoy the picturesque sunset from Seefelder Spitze. With the diverse offerings at the Rosshütte, nature lovers big and small are guaranteed to have fun!
Adventure playground
The spacious adventure playground at the middle station of the Rosshütte is dedicated to the exciting topic of mining and offers children a variety of opportunities to learn while playing. The heart of the sand playground is the central mining climbing tower with its long tube slide, next to it there is a mine with swiveling carts and the screening station. Shovels, buckets, brooms and other important mining tools are of course also available for “work underground”. In addition to the many mining elements, the playground also offers spectacular climbing opportunities, swings and crawling nets, a fast tire slide and a trampoline air cushion for little acrobatics.
Right next to the adventure playground there is also a large wooden marble run with different stations and obstacles. The required wooden balls are available at the machine on site and can be taken away as a small souvenir after playing enough games.
The nearby Rosshütte offers parents, children and day guests spacious sun terraces and a cozy café with a spectacular view over the Seefeld region and tasty food. A little below the middle station is the cold water lake, a snow water storage lake that offers a picturesque resting place in the summer.
During the opening times of the mountain railways, the playground area and trampoline station are professionally looked after at all times. The family and stroller-friendly approach to the middle station from Seefeld takes around two hours; drivers will also find plenty of free parking spaces at the valley station. If you bring strollers, grandparents or groups with you, you can save yourself the nerves of the climb and simply take the cable car to the Rosshütte.
